My name is Sara.

Hi!

I am so excited that you have discovered my page.

I am the founder and proprietor of Milestone Moments PT. Throughout my career, I have primarily focused on pediatric care ranging from Early Intervention, PK-12 School Based Therapy, Dayhabilitation Programs, and currently am focused on out-patient care for children of all ages. My current role as a clinic based pediatric therapist was driven by a desire to work more closely with the families of the children I work with in order to establish plans and routines that foster physical development and maximize independence.

I want to empower my families to work alongside their therapist teams to provide supportive environments at home that foster motor milestone development, makes physical activity fun, and reframes the mindset that 1-2 sessions a week away from home is the only way their child can grow and prosper.

I attended the University of Missouri, Columbia where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. After graduation I moved to Boston and began working with the EasterSeals of Massachusetts who provided me with a wide-range of experiences primarily targeting pediatrics. I worked alongside Occupational and Speech Therapist’s as well as Assistive Technology specialists to further develop my knowledge base in pediatric care from hands-on therapy to durable medical equipment management. I moved to Kansas City in 2022 where I began working in an out-patient pediatric clinic.

I have worked in pediatrics for over 7 years and began my DMI training in 2023. I am now an Introductory Level C DMI Practitioner. I have seen tremendous changes in therapeutic outcomes since incorporating DMI intervention into my regular treatment sessions. I have worked alongside families to incorporate cupping, NMES, taping, and theratogs to maximize each child’s benefit from each session. I have seen first-hand the significant motor changes that come from an intensive therapy model and am excited to

bring that model to Kansas City, MO in order to provide access to intensives without the mental and financial stress brought on by travel, booking accommodations, and ensuring your household can run smoothly during your absence.

When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy traveling the globe and exploring local restaurants. I love to take long walks with my dog, compete in road races, and crotchet!
